Bluescreen\/greenscreens, MDF back board for lens grids, 4\u2019x4\u2019 black floppy for shadow passes, etc. etc. It\u2019ll likely be stuff you can\u2019t bring with you.<\/p>\n<p>Meet the 1<sup>st<\/sup> AD and make them aware of passes you will do in camera<\/p>\n<p>Let the the 1<sup>st<\/sup> AD know additional time you\u2019ll need after each shot for your work<\/p>\n<p>Meet props and art dept people if needed. Talk about rigging for specific props if needed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Camera data and setup<\/h2>\n<p>Talk to the AC \/ DOP and confirm:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8211; Camera type<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; Framerate<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; Sensor crop<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; Lens kit, adapters, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Talk to the DIT and confirm:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8211; Transfers and transcodes \u2013 online\/offline filetypes and resolutions<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 We would normally require: (assuming arri camera):<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0&#8211; Online:<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0&#8211; RAW .ari files (or similar Red Raw\/Canon Raw, etc.) at full resolution<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0&#8211; Offline:<\/em>\n<ul>\n<li><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0&#8211; Prores 422 at HD<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8211; If shooting audio, request synced audio for all clips<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; How will they provide the data back? Are we sending hard drives? Who carries them?<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; A backup\/master file structure<\/li>\n<li>&#8211; Mac or PC formatted drives?\u00a0ExFat is readable on both and is recommended<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ask camera dept to shoot the camera grids on the camera test day and supply them with necessary files. If not possible make the 1<sup>st<\/sup> aware you will need time to do it on the shoot days.<\/p>\n<p>Ask camera dept to shoot a leader board<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Shot specific<\/h2>\n<p>Anything the grips need to know about? Any rig that needs to be built?<\/p>\n<p>Any props or prop rigging needed? Anything specific from art dept?<\/p>\n<p>Is it a motion control shot or an otherwise repeatable camera move? Talk to grips about equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Layout shot direction and rough angles and take a photo\/video of each. By the time you leave the tech recce you should be in a position to build a rough video board\/animatic.<\/p>\n<p>Take some rough set measurements if needed.<\/p>\n<p>Take some rough photogrammetry if needed.<\/p>\n<p>Do you need a sample HDR to take back to the lighters?
